For some reason my dvd player on my windows XP aint working anymore and i cant figure out why i have checked thousands of options and this thing keeps coming up n my microsoft crash analysis "A Filter (IVIVIDEO.AX)", for interactual player. i looked it up and it sent me to something about a codec/codecs. i really dont know what those things are. but i think it has something to do with it reading the cd and playback (which i was led to also and tried downloading playback software). i have no clue what a playback is either? well if anyone can help me at all please it would be most usefull.
It's your DvD Player but are you playing DvDs, VCDs, .avi files, etc... Did you make any system changes prior to the error occuring?
hello duxbubble codecs are file that tell your computer how to read differnt format's of files ie,, divx, avi, mpeg. as there are thousands now and more everyday(it seems) you might do a quick search as I remember seeing a couple members give links to bundle packs that when dl it would open all format's this is my understanding of the sit. but have never had to update mine so have no first hand knowledge of such things. here is one that I found in are soft ware lists you might try it out http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/k-lite_codec_pack_full.cfm
If it is codecs you need I've found that this combination has worked for me on pretty every file so far DivX XviD FFDShow AC3 Filter
thx for all your help but that very night i posted i fixed my problem. i downloaded a XP codec bundle off of this very site. Afterdawn rocks! i was surprised n very proud of myself i never been able to fix my own computer bymyself before. thx though!
