Help converting mvk files please?

    Is there any program that can comvert a mkv file to a avi or wmv and not loose the subtitles every time i try a program it looses the subtitles?

    You could use mkvextract to demux the subs or you want them hard encoded?

    What does hard encoded mean? Does that mean that whenever i play the file the subtitles are on it as if it was part of the picture if so yes that is what i would like?

    Yes, that is what it means. They would be a permanent feature of your video.
