Hi all i recently downloaded a program called CloneDVD im sure you will all have heard of. Before i had Pinnacle instant cd-dvd, i found out i couldn't copy dvds which were write protected, and i was told to use this program.

I have got a dvd at home that i would like to copy, by the way i only have 1 disk drive, if that helps. I follow the first step in copying the dvd, i copy the dvd in what is called ISO/UDF Image, not sure what that means but anyway. When i try to copy the file to the disk it opens the disk drive and says, something like there was a medium error. Can anyone help me, what does this mean.

If it helps i am using dvd-r's, maybe its because it requires a different disk. I don't know, any help is greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Matt

Use DVD Decrypter to free your DVD - then CloneDVD to compress and burn -

i believe (i might be wrong)

but a medium error is a problem with the media?

as in the Disk you use, what Brand of DVDr do you use?

Clonedvd will NOT decrypt a store bought dvd movie by itself. You need Anydvd to work with it. Anydvd runs in the backgroung to decrypt and make the dvd region free while Clonedvd does the actual rip, compress and burn back. They work great together but you need them both.
30 trial download to see if you like them. You can edit the disc like DVDshrink but you can keep the menu active and working.

    Pssst, Pssssst -

(Whispering in my sidekick's ear, Yo Knowledgeable ole' Buddy, Decrypter if Free, tell him that - Yea, I know, AnyDVD is like having both twins together but Decrypter is a First Cousin and it does work)

    Hey Jerry, Hi'ya Doin' ??

Been missin' Ya down at the ole' waterin' hole :)

    Hi all,

Id like to thank Jerry as his post was very useful, i now realise what i was doing wrong and have succesfully copied a dvd (for my own LEGAL use of course!). Anyway thanks a lot, great help, if you or anyone comes back here, is there anyway to get a downloaded .avi file onto a dvd, or in a format that clonedvd can read to copy.

    Any help is greatly appreciated,
    Matt
