So the hospital I work at allows me to purchase a laptop at a discount and slowly deduct it from my pay. However it has to be from costco. Now I'm currently about to build my own PC for gaming and performance so this laptop will be for school, watching movies and light gaming. Would you recommend the:

    alienware m15x

    Dell studio xps 16

Or I can go to a local mac dealer and get a macbook pro built, if you see something better on costco.com I'm all ears or should I wait for upcoming releases of new products? thanks in advance!

Alienware is always overpriced, go with the Dell. It'll handle everything you said you would be doing like a breeze. I wouldnt pay 700 bucks more just for an extra 4GB of RAM what wont be needed.

The Alienware is better, but not $700 better. The GTX260M is the only real advantage it has, and the screen is worse, the Dell has the better screen. Since you're going to have a separate gaming PC, the Dell is actually the better laptop, despite being $700 less.

Awesome, thanks guys. I really love the way dell put that laptop together. Not so much a big fan of alienware's new case design.
