Lately, it's hard to find media that is 4x or 8x, and that is always been the media that i've used. However, recently I've been running low on my older stacks and have been buying 16x dvd-rs because I can't seem to find anything that is less. So, I've already tried three brands including Magnavox, Maxell and Sony and all three brands seem to be incompatible with the decrypter or my burner. I originally thought that they were crappy discs, but when the decrypter rejected Sony too I started to think that it's got be something else as I have never ever had any problems even with crappy media before...only now with the newer 16x discs I keep getting these error messages and I'm not able to use the decrypter with those discs. I tried to update the decrypter but there seem to be no new updates. Then I even installed imgburn, the same thing. I really believe it's these new discs. How can I solve this problem, considering that there will no longer be 4x or 8x discs? Anyway, the message that the decrypter says is: I/O Error! I really have no idea what it means. Can anyone help me fix it? Maybe there is something that I need to change with my burner? In fact, I really think it has to do with the burner. Any help will be greatly appreciated. grace
did you do a firmware update? I can't see 2.98 firmware anywhere for your ND-3500AG drive: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php
Thanks for your reply. Any help is appreciated. I have: NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG 2.98 exactly which is the latest firmware ugrade for this, because there are one too many and I don't know which is the latest. Also, is there a step by step guide on how to do this procedure? I'm clueless and ignorant in this matter. I'm afraid that I'm going to ruin my machine. thanks
