    Hi upon trying to erase my cdrw via nero i get the following error

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Buffer overrun detected!

    Program: ...Nero\Nero 7\Nero StartSmart\NeroStartSmart.exe

    A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated

    This happens with every disc i put in now i read something about virus or spyware causing this i have checked for both but not come up with anything anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Biggie76
    What version of Nero are you running?
    If there's an update - update to the latest one - will hopefully fix this problem. The latest version is 7.10.1.0

    If not do a clean install of Nero - uninstall Nero - run the clean tool. Reboot and reinstall Nero.

    Here's also another program that free (good burner) and will erase discs also - ImgBurn

    Hmmm using the same version when it last worked?

    Try doing a clean install and see if that helps.

    Not a problem Biggie76
    My guess is maybe something you installed or uninstalled maybe caused it - but again just a guess.
    Glad the clean install did the trick!
