I have tried everything to backup my movies and then burn them from .iso files to blank dvds and nothing works. It seems to work and I get to the point where I am burning it to a new disc and I always get some error ( i/o error, power calibration error, partially written reserved track) I am currently using dvdshrink, dvd decryptor and imgburn. Please help me!!
The most common causes of a power calibration error are as follows. 1. Poor media. Low quality media is inconsistent and will frequently give hit or miss results during the power calibration process of the burn. Best fix: Use good quality blank media. Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim are your best two options. May not be a bad idea to update the firmware for your burner either. Best place to do so: http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php 2. Your burner may be dying. Also, your process needs updating. Use something newer to rip. DvdFab Hd Decrypter is an excellent choice for a freeware ripper.
Yes. Rip to hdd with DvdFab Hd Decrypter. Transcode (compress) with Dvd Shrink Burn with Imgburn. Here's a link to a thread that outlines setting Shrink to autoburn with Imgburn. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/664041 For additional guides see here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/673257
