HELP EXPLORER ERROR

    this error is driving me nuts im running on windows 98 and whenever i restart or turn on my computer i keep getting this error that says
    EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
    module OLE32.DLL at 015f:7ff31fe2.

    and it doesnt close iv pressed the x button at least 100 times and it still wont close it also wont let me open the start menu

    try reloading windows ontop of self to see if correct the problem as it does sometimes. will give you the option to save system files, don't but make certain windows go to same folder as already there

    but to reinstall windows you have to format the hard drive.

    so you boot from the cd and then what?

    Ok - so I have to spell it out for you

    use guide No 1

    http://www.windowsreinstall.com/win98/install98cd/index.htm

    part way through the install process it will tell you already have windows installed and offer to repaer / replace it.

    Then follow the instructions given by ddp

    ok.do you have to have the retail copy of windows xp or can you do it with oem?

    I'll let someone else anwser that, your startin to get on my nerves.

    Afterdawn is not a one stop shop for those who cant be bothered to work out stuff for themselves. We are here to help if you get stuck.

    Your questions are barely 5 mins apart, this tells me that you are not even trying to find out for yourself.

    Now go do some research and leave me to help those who are at least making an effort to help themselves.
