*****HELP FOR TEESSIDE STARVIEW 4 USERS*****

Hope this helps, got home last night to find channels had disappeared on my starview 4, this is what i did to get them back. Factory re-set then re-flashed the box with firmware version 1.12 then do an automatic scan making sure you select the correct provider for your area (Teesside is NTheLl). Enter 1570 in the menu screen to enter CAS system and turn the keycode on. Slysports 1 was missing in the sports section & had been replaced with a channel called FX. Put channel FX on, then go into the menu, select channel edit, select delete channel then delete channel FX, slysports 1 is now in the sport section.

Starview 3 had also gone off, just factory re-set the box again re-scan no need to flash this one, again turn on the EMU key via 1570 in the main menu and delete channel FX to get slysports 1 back in your sports section

Frequencies are moving at the moment. Carry out a factory reset and rescan that should cure it.

did it today and worls lol

 

No probs. It depends on when u actually scan if things are changing as u scan channels will mix up or just have a number rather than a name. just wait for a while and try again. That usually solves it.

However just to clarify, is TeeSlide now N3 or not? or is the frequency change just an ongoing thing?

I Think Teeside has updated the software for official boxes in preperation for the switchover Like a lot of areas in the UK. Now new cards will be sent out sometime in the near future for official boxes and from when they are received to when the switch happens is Between 2 to 4 weeks.
I received my card in a different area 2 weeks ago now and as yet everything is still working not holding my breath though

If you have a starview 3 you can go into the channel edit menu scroll through the channels and if you see channels with names of boxes such as pace, samsung with numbers after a rescan this is the new datastream/software upgrade that is being sent down to enable official boxes to work when the switchover happens.

 

Hi, im in teesside area, and ive got a sv4. Im currently using the v1.12 but the problms im having is everytime i turn the box back on some channels such as cbebbies is just black, the only way to get this back on is to manual scan the channel. Could any one shed any info on this?

just turned on my SV4 box all the channels are goneeee, did a factory reset + scan for channels and still cant find no channels.

Have a look at the thread "Nagra 3 where we Stand" If your area is one of those mentioned then that may explain it otherwise it could be something simple like an outage in your area. Check the VM website for details. If it was Nag 3 you would loose a block of channels to start with like all the movies rather than everything. They do this as if there are any problems they can be ironed out before the next phase is carried out. We lost all movies and also asian channels in Ilford and surrounding areas on Thursday 20 days after receiving new smartcard so It probably not too long now before all the rest go.

 

i think it nagra 3, as i have a new virgin smart card and i lost movies channel few days ago and now its all gone at long last.

are there any other boxes not affected by this, that could be recommended to get?

 

you should still have some free to air channels on the box like bbc etc ,check if your getting a signal (one way is to disconnect the cable tv input from your box and connect it to your tv ,then go to an unused channel on your tv and do a manual scan for channels)it would be very strange to have no channels at all on your box . if you plug the cable directly to your tv as above and get no free channels then it would seem you have no signal.

 

perhaps I am wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that all chans are gone, once the N3 switch is made,

 

hi mick i cant say for certain about the uk ,but there are still free channels on here in ireland .are they not obliged to atleast provide the 5 main channels (just for using the cable direct to your tv)they are here in ireland .
