I've got a starview super box(ver 3 I belive), and to cut a long story short I've managed to upload firmware 8.04 but the thing won't stay on long enough for me to action a channel scan. I got an Ld80 error then it goes to 0 then to 6, and won't respond to anything, powering it off and on just re-starts the cycle.I've opened the box up and looked at the caps as per the diagram in the help section, but caps c11 and c21 look fine - there is no distortion or leakage on them. There is a bit of something around cap C5,but this could be some sort of glue as it's rock hard.Should I replace the caps anyway, something which I've not done before and am a bit reluctant to do as I've got no soldering stuff or ever attempted anything like this before.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Thanks.

    Hi
Just a starter for you before you delve into power supplies, will it stay on long enough for you to reflash it, worth a try first. BTW if you only believe ver 3 is your model you may have loaded the wrong F/W into it, which is not good. The Ld80 error suggests whatever you tried has either not loaded or is the wrong F/W so will not load at start up

Panic over, it's defo a Starview3 box , and after I'd put it back together I re-flashed it with ver 8.02 firmware, which I had tried unsuccessfully to do dozens of times since the weekend. This time it worked like a dream and I was able to re-scan etc and is now working fine.
The moral of the story is if at 1st you don't succeed keep going, and also that Starview boxes are pain in the arses and have minds of thier own. It's literally took me 5 days to get mine up and running again and I fixed it by doing nothing I hadn't done or tried to do loads of times.
