I have soft modded my Xbox with splinter cell; I used the game saves from Softmod.Installer.Deluxe.v2.0.Xbox-Hq, on an Xbox v1.6 and a 20 gig drive. Even have it networked to my computer so I can ftp into it, and am running evox dash.
I have been trying to make the ms dashboard option/short cut in evox a workable option. No I do not go onto xbl; I just want to make everything work on the evox dashboard. I posted a question about it earlier (about a week ago). I was told to edit the evox.ini file. I was not given on any specifics how to edit it. So I played around with every option I could think of in the evox, ini file. I crashed my system a couple of times, no problem I had backup info with xboxhdm.
So today I tried using the standard evox.ini file but this time I copied xbox.xtf, Xbox book.xtf and xboxdash.xbe and renamed xboxdash.xbe to msdash.xbe to c:\root directory.
When I choose ms dashboard while in evox, the loading screen comes up the shows an error screen 21. I was hoping some one can give me a little help in the right direction.
Does the ms dashboard work for anyone in the evox dash? Can any body tell me how there system is set up? Could I get some help if I’m going in the right direction here? Any tutorials would be great; I’m not finding many in-depth tut with Google. Thanks for any and all help!

The reason u didnt get a response is because it is hard to do and most people dont know how i wouldnt suggest it, u could screw it up and u wont have an xbox anymore and who ever helped u wold take the blame.

That’s kind of what I thought, it being hard. I have already crashed the info on the hard drive a couple of times; I was able to bring it back with xboxhdm, so I am not afraid off errors. Is there something else that I am not thinking of that could crash and not be repairable?
I would not place the blame on anyone else. Thanks
