yes i am using windows xp home with sp2. i use a winfast200 tv/video capture card. it allows me to burn a vcd svcd or dvd on the fly from my tv signal. i recorded the movie sinbad 7th voyage and it burned it all the way till it was over. but here is my problem it did not finalize the dvd when it was done like it should have. now i can not watch this movie at all even though it is totally burnt on dvd. is there anyway to some how get this movie off to another dvd or hard drive? i tried dvd rescue but it sees nothing on disk. i looked at dvd and it is 90 used. is it because the dvd did not finalize that dvd recue will not work? i reall need to get this movie off any help would be greatful.

You won't get that movie off the DVD. Because it's not really there. Your DVD burner burnt the DVD but nothing was actually put on it. If a DVD does not finialize or close the video The video is not actually there. The lead in and lead out process of burning a dvd must accure or the movie is lost. This usually happens when you use a cheap DVD burner. I have found very few DVD Duel Layer burners will not finialize a movie or data. Like the ones you buy at Wallmart. The only 2 DVD burners that I have found that will actually compleat the process is a Pioneer or Sony. I use a Sony 720U Duel layer DVD+ or - burner. I have had great success with this burner and it has never let me down.
