ok, ive got a fat32 harddrive, so this beens i cant encode a file over 4gig, so i was wondering is there a piece of software which allows me to change the FPS so it will copy the dvd so it will be under 4gig.

Are you absolutely sure about that? I have a similar hard drive and have no problems in encoding any size disc. I assume you have enough hard disc space free?

It depends on what exactly you are trying to do, a little more info is needed for anyone to help you. And it is true that earlier versions of Windows can't handle really large files.

Drumgod is spot on. The file type itself has no problems handling that, it all depends on your OS. What edition of what operating system you using?
I've changed mine from fat32 to NTSF as it tends to be faster for me.
Again as Discmania says, have you enough hard disk free? It needs more than the final size of files produced when encoding. No good having 5GB free when you are trying to compress and encode an 8GB disk.

yo u wanna change the hdd to NTFS
then carry ou the required backup procedure of ur files
    then format
preferably not the entire 120Gb is a pain to watch lol
    best bet is to partition
neways pop the win xp disc in wen comp starts and it will automaically autorun wen it detects your CDrom drive and carries out the boot sequence (hopefully ur default should be set to CD[if not change boot sequence in BIOS {hit del at start of comp to change bios}])
damn i feel like im writing high level code with all these brackets lol
follow the procedure of the winxp installation
until it presents u with the option to either:
    FORMAT USING NTFS (QUICK)
    FORMAT USING FAT32 (QUICK)
    FORMAT USING NTFS
    FORMAT USING FAT32

    GO WITH EITHER NTFS FORMAT

this will change ur hdd to a NTFS
however im not solving your problem jus stating the procedure of what u asked
im in doubt if changing the HDD mode will solve your problem
but hey u aint got shit to loose
    hit me back with results
    peace dawg!!

    good looking out UK_MEWZ : )

I have my whole 80 + 40 HDD's & partitions on NTFS , so I can throw stuff about to any drive
WinXP (using Pro myself) is the most stable O/S I have come across BTW

You on drugs....lol? Windows XP Pro stable. Its as stable as a wooden house in a hurricane. But in saying that, i kinda like it too. With the SP updates it is improving, but my start bar always freezes!

I've only had a PC for 3 years and in that time I've used three O/S
Win98SE - Wasn't too bad cos I had/have a decent modem & could just update whatever needed it.Not exactly stable but..not a bad O/S all in all IMHO
WinME - F*CK*NG SH*T [ all I have to say other than conflicted w/ so many things I had to get rid ]
WinXP Pro - No problems to date...8 months down the line : )
WinXP is the only O/S not to power down doing it's own restart all of a sudden. I do try & hammer my machine for all it's worth so multi-tasking used to be out of the question. Not anymore ... so I would say it's stable myself but understand of course that other users may not have encountered the trouble free time w/ WindowsXP (especially XP Pro in this case). Some of my mates or friends parents have had some problems w/ XP Home but more thru a naivety factor me thinks. Well actually I know cos I've been asked to go round and sort it out for 'em.LOL

    Tupenny lobbed in !!

    [bold]P.S.[/bold] Yes I am on drugs..purely medicinal you understand ? : )-
