Sorry about the newb question but Im stumped. Im an old pro at burning stuff but I wanted to up it a notch and purchased a Blu Ray Burner...I bought the Pioneer BDR-202bk from Ebay...came with nothing other than the player...I installed it its recongnized just it wont read any BLANK disc I put in it to burn....I AM RUNNING ANYDVD HD just to put it out there...

I did a search for the firmware update and found the latest...1.08 its a zip file clicked the exe file and i get that the

    TARGET IS NOT FOUND

It wants me to install it to

    C:/driver

im sure that isnt right but where do i install the firmware update so it sticks....

any info is appreciated...i want this work

Can you supply a link to the firmware update you downloaded so that I can have a look at it. It may have been your typo but I am guessing it was a self extracting zip file which wanted to unzip to c:\driver (note the backslash). I would then imagine that if you checked the C:\driver directory there would be an executable there that would update your firmware. It is my understanding that drive firmware is not "installed" on windows but rather on to the drive itself. A link would help me determine this for you.

here is the link i was getting it from...dont get me wrong ive tried other sites the same issue happens...i get the command screen that states target not found :_

Just save it anywhere and then run the executable that you extracted.

If it doesn't work I would would double check the drive is actually what you think that it is. Did it come in retail packaging? Did you confirm that the label on the drive does state BDR202BK.

I have anydvdhd and it i have never had a problem with it but try the following in this order:

    1. uninstall AnydvdHD (make sure you still have your license file). restart the PC.

    2. Go to your device manager and uninstall your bluray drive. restart the PC.

    3. When windows restarts it should detect the BD drive as new hardware.

    4. BEFORE installing anydvdhd ensure that your drive can recognize blank discs. (bd / dvd / cd)

    5. Try burning to a blank.

If this has resolved your problem then your all done. Reinstall anydvdhd.

If this has not resolved your problem:

    6. BEFORE reinstalling anydvdhd try the firmware update. if you still cant get it to work contact Pioneer tech support.

I could be wrong but after reading up how anydvd works i dont think running a firmware update with anydvd enabled is a good idea.

Let me know how you go.
