    Hi,

I have downloaded couple of trailers from internet in quicktime/wmv format. i want to write them on a dvd but i still want to maintain the resolution same as source. the source is in 320X200 resolution. is their someway where i can increase the resolution to standard dvd size(720x480) and still maintain the same quality. i have converted my qt trailers to avi using winmpg 5.2 but resolution is same..so i m just thinking how to increase it without compromising quality..

    any suggestion is highly appreciated..

    regards,

    sachin

There is No way to increase the Resolution without Ruining the Quality But you do Not have to make a DVD out of files that are 720+480 ,There are other DVD Compliant resolutions Like 352+480 and 352+240...I would suggest you encode them to Mpeg2 at 352+240 and author them to DVD at that resolution as this will be the best Quality resolution you will be able to make a DVD you of useing these Files...I have about 48 hours of Porn in WMV Format at 320+240 and 30fps so what I did was use Vegas Video 4 to Join them all onto one File and raised the Resolution to 352+240 and changed the Frame rate to 29.976fps and added a couple filters to clean up the Image a Bit and then Exported the Files as an AVI file useing the HuffYUV Codec (Lossless) and then I used a High Quality encoder to Encode the AVI file to Mpeg2 for DVD at 352+240 and then authored the Files to DVD and got over 6 Hours on each DVD-R with Watchable Quality...well good Luck

You can convert the actual Quicktime movies to a DVD mpeg using TMPGEnc. You just need to get the mov plugin and it install it in your TMPEnc directory. Get it here: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/4942/svcd.html . Use a resolution of 352x240 as stated above and make sure you go to "Settings", click on the "Advanced" tab and change the video arrange method to "Full Screen(keep aspect ratio). There will be some quality loss but it won't be nearly as bad as converting the avi's you made instead.
