hey everyone, i just installed windows xp professional 64bit and i have no sound coming through my speakers now. i think some how my sound drivers are screwed up or sumthen? i need some help though. any info would be great
go to: http://www.driverguide.com and download AC'97 Audio drivers, after registering (FREE) then searc for new hardware and if it shows your sound card, then direct it to search for the location of the drivers you downloaded, if it doesnt, then uninstall the hardware, and then go to the add hardware and direct it to the driver directory
ok i got my sound working but i still have 2 errors one is a sm bus controller. the other is pci simple communications controller. i dunno what theses are or what they do. but neither of them are workin right now. any suggestions on what they are and how i get them workin properly?
is your motherboard chipset intel as i think sm bus controller is part of that chipset? did you load the motherboard drivers including the chipset inf? pci simple communications controller is your dial-up modem.
ddp i have not a slight clue if my chipset is intel i didnt feel like opening my case earlier i just found that it said cuz i used the cpu-z software. it says my chipset is ati express 200 rev 10 and the southbridge is MSI ati sb400 im not sure if that helps any. Also my mother board is a MSI amethyst-m if that also helps. i think i got rid of the pci error but not the sm bus one. i dunno if i loaded the drivers for the mobo or not. I tried searching for how to get rid of that sm bus error but wasnt successful. if u could help me out or point me in the right driecton i will aprreicate it.
