okay if anyone can help me ,I will owe u my life.My PC will not boot to windows ,aLL I get is a blue screen saying ,A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to protect your PC.the last bit of info gives me a STOP:0x0000007B (0xF789E640,0xc0000034,0x00000000.0x00000000) error. I took the hard drive out and put into another PC and reformated and reinstalled windows XP back,still same thing when i restart it.I have no other boot disk or anything. I believe the problem may be in the controller or driver for the hard disk but how can I get into it to try and fix it.I have a Sony vaio RS430G.has 120 hard drive and 2.8 processor.anymore info ,please let me know. thanks i made a boot disk and now it says cant start windows because hal.dll is corrupt or missing.I dont have the recovery disk as i left it at my brothers when he reinstalled windows,is there anyway to copy the dll rto a floppy and install without getting ninto windows? Thanks
