Recorder: <SONY DVD RW DRU-510A> Version: 1.0c[/quote] - firmware is 3 versions out of date, version 1.1a is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1597

    - see if this gets fixed via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm
i'm Not sure if the burner is in a USB enclosure ?

    - free up more memory by closing down more programs prior to burning

    - did you intend to do a multisession disk ?

    - format the disc prior to use.

yes but that's just one disc. if you want zero problems with Nero or dvd work, follow my suggestions or you'll be back here again with further logfiles :)

as to erasing , in Nero, the erase option is under the 'Recorder' option at top of Nero

is that burner in a usb enclosure ?

plus it could always be that there's something wrong eith that disc. you not got any other discs ?. tell you what, do a full format or erase on that disc and try again..

Yes, i use a usb port.

Now i have two types discs, one is ReWritable and the other is Recordable. Then it work well when i burn recordable disc, but error occur when i insert rewritebale disc.

I can't apply full erase operation on the Rewritable disc.

    Thank you very much!

no worries, the usb explains the question mark in the log
. yet your atapi drivers are loading correctly so that's that bit cleared up.

another thing to try if ever you haven't got a rewritable is to run a 'simulation' burn in Nero, this will request a blank disc but not write to it, it goes thru the motions and will produce a logfile for checking, just as we did above

    hi, think i've found the answer - http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/dru510adwn.htm -

    - keep that 4x rewritable for another day, or try to change it for a lower speed disc..

this is something i'm not 100% on. if a burner only supports say 2x writing on a disc, i don't believe you should be able to burn correctky onto that disc even if you do 2x, because the burner is not able to deal with 4x discs
