I had a problem with old pc Have new one with 100gb hard drive I wanted to install the hard drive from ole pc into new one to retrive my files if I can..I tried to do a repair to the xp in ole drive but now get a message that there is no O.S. on drive. Will this h.d. work in new pc without os so I can get my files off of it????????????? Any help is much appreciated
If you have an OS on the new hard drive already installed on your new comp, then you dont have to worry about the OS in the old hd. just remember to connect all of the necessary wires.
Thanks for your help..One more question if I could.. When I install the 2nd hard drive will the bios set up the "drive letter" and all the stuff needed or do I have to go into the bios and change it manually??? Thanks again
no. once you install it, he bios is going to recognize it as a hard drive. all you have to do is go to my computer to access it.
