Greetings, I just got a preflashed shd163a and installed it in place of a former cd drive in the computer and it is not getting recognized and I can't see it in my computer there is no drive letter and even re-booting twice windows doesn't say found new hardware. I put a dvd in the drive and the green light flashes but computer wont access it? I didn't get a CD with the drive for install. This is a windows XP computer. Any help apreciated
I fixed the problem maybe this can help someone else. I was searching computer sites and came across setting the jumper, the little plastic piece on back of drive needed to be moved to the same spot as the previous drive I replaced and now is set to slave. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6603_7-5118840-4.html set drive jumpers
