    Hola!

Well, I just connected my laptop into a Maytag 42” plasma screen tv, via a VGA plug. It seems to work perfectly fine at first, until I tried to play a random *.rm or *.avi video. All my *.rm, *.rmvb, *.avi, *.mp4 movies that work fine on my laptop turn into a plain black screen on my tv.
Since the whole point of connecting my laptop to this tv was to watch my videos on a big screen :(, I was wondering if anyone could help me fix that.

PS: I just had the latest k-lite codex installed on my pc, but the problem is still unchanged :(

    Thanks xxx

(I hope this is the right section to post this thread…)

You can't play video files on your secondary screen, it's a common problem. Make the TV your primary monitor then it should work.

mmm, seems logic, but how can I make it my primary monitor? I tried to mess with the settings but without really knowing what i was doing, and I messed up good and had to restore my pc into an earlier date :D
Can you plz help me set my tv as a primary monitor?(anyone else's help is also welcomed)
My laptop is a cheesy compaq presario 2500

Finally! I figured out a decent solution to watch my laptop videos (all formats included) on my VGA connected TV, without having this annoying black screen!

1-Get Directx 9 installed on ur pc (direct 9.0c worked fine for me)

2-Configure ur video player, Some player have optional overlay output.

    [/VideoLAN Player:
    Deselect the overlay video output

    [/Media Player Classic (K-lite):
    Select these choices.

    Thank you for ur time…
