Ok I'm trying to split an AVI of Oceans 11, with VirtualDub 1.4.10. when I open the AVI this error message comes up:

VirtualDub has detected improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during process for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 48310 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate: 87.2 +/- 13.1kbps)

    OK

I followed it up to 48310ms of skew, the rest is digital gibberish to me.

I pressed ok. Then i split the file. The first part is ok but when i split the second part the audio as warned has gone about 40s ahead of the video.

I have looked at other posts in here and there are a number of things i cant do due to my crap computer.

I can't encode the whole AVI to MPG, then split that file, as I dont't have enough memory on my hard drive, as well as other things.

Can anyone help me with this. Have any of you ever experienced this before, and overcome this problem?

    Help Me Please!!!

    Thanks

Ok seeing as no-one has replied I'll add some more. Does anyone know how to get the audio off the AVI file separately. What would I need to do this?
