I flashed a bios to my new xecuter 2.6 CE chip and now when I boot up the box I get no picture but sound. I know the flash has worked because when I put a backup in I can hear music from the game. With the chip disabled I get a picture with the original bios. Now I need to flash it but have no programmer so I need to use a disc, can anyone tell me what button presses (up one (X) down two (A) for instance) to get to the flash bios from disc option from the x2 bios screen. I will know it has worked because the drive should open shouldn't it? Anyway I have a v1.1 box with xecuter 2.5 CE modchip and flashed bios.bin using x2_5032_vOld_512k.bin made with x2bm.exe Hope thats enough, please help.
Hi, problems then, First a couple of questions for you..Was the chip and everything else going fine before you flashed it? ie; did you have the full bios screen up or just flash from slayers? I ask because this sounds more like some sort of wiring issue. Mine did this a few times until I had a really good look at it and found one of the pins on the pinheader was slightly shorter than the others. Pressing on the top of the chip would bring everything to life until I took my finger off so a bit of judicious bending (the pin, not me!) was called for. Moral of story...check and double check everything TWICE.. Dont forget the d0 point underneath...box boots to BSOD with this off in any chip mode (I know, I had one with the track broken)Now where's me beer gone......Good luck
