If you look through the posts in this forum you'll see a lot more questions than answers. I know in the time since Neil Wilkes left (for understandable reasons) very little has been posted. I'm certainly not the person to replace him, but I think we have the collective know-how to do a much better job in the future. With that in mind, my goal for the next month or so is to try to get a couple of sticky threads setup with some basic information to get people started. If you look at the FAQs in the DVD Authoring forum you'll see the sort of thing I'm talking about. Specifically, I'm looking for good questions/answers for a FAQ and links to software and hardware for DVD-A, SACD, or PC based audio. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
He is a bit before your time weasel200.Neil is a really nice guy who works in the audio field. Is very knowledgeable in the DTS area of audio, basically a sound wizard but due to some unforseen issues with AD he left.(about 12 months now i think) correct me if i'm wrong vurbal.
Yea weazel, Wilkes was the man around these parts. He taught me a lot. Since he left this room hasn't been the same. Ced
vurbal, if you havent read your pm's in a while, i sent you one.Direct from the horses mouth so as to speak.Hopefully you'll act on the reply and you'll be off best i can do on short notice, consider this a payback as i asked you for help 12 months ago and you pointed me to his door. The association that we have is still current so i do have email conversations with neil regulary even though he is in the UK and i'm in australia
hey shark19 was that really worth it...........I guess me reporting your little outburst made me feel better though and hopefully the admin will take notice of your IP address when they ban you.... have a nice day
What were the unforseen issues which made him leave AfterDawn? Can someone dig up a post of his. I've been looking but can't find anything.
Is this Wilkes guy the same poster who posted a message at the end of this thread = http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/198399
