Hi guys this is my 1st post so here here gos

I have a movie file which is in AVI format, I have used DVDSANTA to turn it into a VOB/thingy file so i can use dvd shrink to burn to a dvd.

The original AVI is fine and runs smooth on my pc , but as soon as i use DVDSANTA ,and i check the VOB files it has created they keep jumping and freezing..

Does anybody know what is causing this as its really begining to get on my tits thanks

    hope i make sense

    Hi there,

When you say you check the VOB file, I assume you mean playing the VOB on the computer, and not burned to media right?

I never used DVDSanta, sorry !

You can also try DivXtoDVD from VSO.

    http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm

It makes a good job converting .AVI to VOB files...

It's still free (v0.5.2b) so grab it while you can :)

will DivXtoDVD keep the original picture standard or will quality be lost?

    Hi,

Personally, I had friends over and didn't even notice it was not an original DVD :)

I'm not a huge quality freak, but I say it's pretty decent !!!

I personally think divx2dvd is good. Works fast, is free and simple to use. Never tried DVD Santa, but I keep reading posts about people saying that their audio doesn't sync up with the video or video looks like crap. So I am under the impression that this software is crap. I'd say try other software like cougar says.
