help me install my internet pls

hi, i just re-installed one of ma pcs (with xp sp2). my isp is talktalk. they gave me a leaflet saying how to install the internet.
it say that i should type my server ip into ma internet browser and it will come up with a page.
but all i get is
"page not found"

i have used IE and Firefox

pls help

 

Did you set up the network adapter and the router/modem?

dw. ma dad figured it out.
he re-installed da drivers for the. i think its called the ethronet port .
anywhoo it worked
