I've had my iPod 30g since Christmas Day and initially had no problems with it. I had videos, songs and video podcasts on it. I decided that I wanted to put a dvd I had onto the ipod so I got ImTOO DVD to iPod converter and converted it to MPEG4 movie format.

When I went to put the new video on the ipod, it took all the videos off my ipod and now won't put them back on. I've tried everything - converting them again, resetting and reformatting the ipod from scratch, downloading and putting the default settings in itunes but to no avail.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. All the songs and video podcasts go on it OK, but any movie / video just won't go on it. All I can think of is that the podcasts I have are in MPEG4 video format and the movies are in MPEG movie format - does this even make a difference?

I'm starting to worry (especially since all the videos that were on it now won't go back on!)

Please help me - I've tried everything and looked everywhere - you guys are my last resort!

    Thanks heaps,

    - Jaz.

P.S. I've got automatic update for everything in itunes, so I know it's not that... :D

Have you activated 'Automatically Update Video's' in the iPod options menu? Remember, Videos are different to Podcasts ;-)

it says that my ipod cannot support that format. I know the files I am trying to put on it are in mp4 format - and all but 1 have been on my ipod before and I haven't changed the format of those.

    I'm freaking out!

I don't quite understand... The ImTOO dvd to ipod converter takes it straight from the DVD and converts it to ipod format without making another copy...

(-note, you will need DVD Decrypter as well as videora to convert DVD's to iPod using the videora method)

recommend PQDVD though. And I must have tried more than 10 programs in total, and it is by far the best..
