Help me Please! I'm pulling my hair out!

    I am new here. Sorry if this has already been discussed. I couldn't find anything. I am having a problem with playing MPG files. AVI's and WMF play fine, but when I click on a MPG file, it opens Windows Media Player, then it says a problem occured, and closes the window. But if I click on the same link again, it will sometimes play it. Sometimes it wont. Please help me if you can. Thanks for the replies.

    Felix, have you got the latest codecs around? Try updating. Similarly, try updating, if you havent already, to the latest windows media player. You could also try different video playing software, such as powerdvd or divx player. Good luck.

    "When it plays" = you are playing MPEG1 = WMP supports it properly

    "When it doesnt play" = you are playing MPEG2 = WMP doesnt support it properly = you should be using a DVD player like WinDVD or PowerDVD to play it :)
