    viper009a,
Welcome to the forum. Below are the error codes:

    1. Since you have Nero Version 6.6.0.13 lets update it to 6.6.0.18 but go no higher :

    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

    2.SONY DVD RW DW-D22A> Version: BFS1
I am not sure that is the latest firmware update for that burner( latest on Firmware Page is BYS3 but no d/l link) so check the Sony site for updates as that will help the burner recog the different media

    3.Physical memory : 503MB (515436kB)
    Free physical memory: 74MB (76756kB)

You are using up all of the Ram in the computer running other processes. You need to free up some ram

    4.Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AM3
Really low grade blank media. The code is the one that made the TDK disk's. Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden

    5. SCSI Exec, HA 0, TA 0, LUN 0, buffer 0x04720000
    Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR)
    HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK)
    TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
    Sense Key: 0x02 (KEY_NOT_READY)

The computer and burner are having problems talking to each other and that is one of the reasons you get illegal disc

    Hi viper009a
    Welcome to aD

Looks like your biggest problem here is the discs you are using. The 16x TDK's are made by CMC MA - G. AM3
Not the best. Better to use would be Verbatim or made in japan only Fuji or Sony.
Not alot of support on this drive. There is another firmware version BYS3 that's a little newer than the one you currently have. Might want to try that one. Scroll down to Sony DW-D22a:
    http://dhc014.rpc1.org/indexOEM.htm
Good memory but a lot in use. No multi tasking and close any unnessecary programs to free some up.
Nero can use an update to. Update to 6.6.0.18:
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2(recode & vision)
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Try these esp trying some different discs. Look for 8x media if you can find it- your drive may do better w/ it - hasn't had a firmware update in almost 2 years.
    Keep us posted.

edit: Car.Mike ya beat me :) I'm too slow :)

    Binkie7,
I thought I was the slowest typist on this forum. LOL

I bookmarked that firmware site as I am glad you found the firmware as the Dangerous Brothers and the Firmware Page came up blank. Again thanks for the site
