Just got a creative X FI platinum card with external drive. I Will be gaming in my living room with 5.1 reciever. Analog via 3X 3.5 mm rca splitters is better than optical for 5.1 gaming right? Optical out of IO port will sound good for my dolby digital 2.0 and 5.1 mpeg2 tv shows though right? If I'm buying 3X Analog 3.5 mm rca splitters, should I be buying higher quality cables for better sound than what monoprice is selling?

I don't really see why optical audio would be inferior for anything, but it could potentially induce lag, so analog would certainly be the most reliable.
