Oh dear. I have and eltax avr-280. Heres a pdf insturction manual i found http://www.eltax.com/eltax/documents/11040_manual5.pdf#search="avr 280" and heres the info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=48629&&source=14&doy=search But im screwed. I was playing around with it, and i tried connecting it by scart to the tv. Then put a normal bookshelf speaker (i havent bought any decent ones yet) in the "center" speaker slot/jack/output (whatever its called). I then set the source of input as "tv". IT worked! It was playing through the speaker and tv and everything great. However, that was just a mess around, i needed to connect the dvd player and a freeview box into the jumble somehow. SO i disconnected the speaker and i tried to get the dvd player connected, but it just played through the tv as normal. I then tried to connect the tv to it again, and it doesnt play through the speaker anymore!! Its set on the same mode and everythign i think, but just plays through the tv speaker. I put my head next to my speaker, and it makes a fuzzing noise, and then cuts out, then a fuzzing noise, then cuts out. I tried another identical spekaer, and the same. The speakers are fine cause they work on my cd player. The amp looks ok because it shows that its picking up the audio signals from the tv. I better not have recked the amp cause i actually got it yesterday, it was £100 which i thought was ok for a first amp. Please help.
I really would be greatful for any help, im really really stuck here. Cause i saved for a while for it. If it helps, there is a constant buzzing/static sound when i listen right up to the speaker, almost like its waiting for something to play, kinda. That leads me to think its my amp, which i dont want to accept! Its possible its my t.v's scart socket i suppose (ive tried numerous leads).
