hello afterdawners im having problems with my GIGABYTE S-series GA-MA69VM-S2 motherboard i put a password on the bios settings and now when i put my password in it accepts it but it doesnt let em change any settings its just grey and only lets me exit the bios i can load my os and everything fine but if i have any problems i want to be able to acces the bios write back thanks
Take the battery (round, silver, looks like a large watch battery) out of your motherboard, leave it out for a minute or two, back in, bios settings will be cleared. Or, your motherboard might have a button on it to clear cmos, try holding that for a few seconds to clear all cmos settings.
yes i know were the battery is but im just wondering does the computer need to be on or off while im doing this ? wb soon thank you for replying
computer should be off EDIT: remember to remove main power cord and ground yourself first (touch a radiator)
do as LDee says because some computers still have power going thru it after windows shuts off the pc.
