Recently, I've been having problems with my Gamecube. Background info: My Gamecube is purple. The model number is DOL-001, U.S model. No mods. I don't know if any of this makes a difference, but I thought I'd provide it just in case.
My games are relatively well handled. My mom puts my games in because of a physical disability I have. They are hardly ever left out, only occasionally scratched or smudged.
Lately, on my favorite game discs, the message,
appears after only a few minutes.
If anyone has seen this problem before and can help me, please reply. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    [bold]Sincerely,[/bold]
    a desperate gamer

    Here's instructions that I wrote

"how to clean cube's laser lense"

open the discdrive's lid and look for the
tiny laserlense that's the one you're after ;)
if this doesn't fix the issue the problem is
    mostlikely with the cube's electronics

    Cleaning the laserlense

    you need

1x q-tip and some rubbing alcohol
    available on local drugstores

a dirty laserlense can cause these problems so..
take some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip
add some rubbing alcohol to the q-tip and
sweep gently the laserlense with the q-tip

notice use fair amount of the alcohol so that the q-tip
ISN'T dripping of alcohol, too much might damage the cube
internals if drips of alcohol is applied.

then use the other end of the q-tip to dry the laser lense

    BE gentle!

do not add any pressure to the laserlense

    Pete
