I come back to my computer after leaving it on as a always do and the mouse wont move. so i check wiring, restart the cpu, switch with an older mouse and nothing works. I cant get it to move. the cursor is stuck it the middle of the screen. I have to use the keyboard (tab and enters) to get anywhere. I went into start>control panel>hardware>mouse options and went to the hardware tab and in the white box of, i think, where the mouse name is supposed to be there is nothing. Can some1 give me any help. I dont think its the mouse becuz ive tried two mice and neither is working. I think its sumthin with the settings or hardware config or something.

can some1 out there plz help me ASAP, thx so much.

um, its not usb thats for sure. i duno what ps2 is (otha than playstation 2). so it must be the other one. Its the one that goes into the back of the cpu. round with little priky things. o ya, yea its serial (learned serial in school, shud know that). Its serial. Mouse has been working fine for about a year but now one day its just stopped. so i think its sumfin to do with hardware config, but what do i know.

Uninstall the mouse in the device manager. If it's optical and your computer is made of cheap partical board then you need a mouse pad because the laser shots inside the wood of the desk or your motherboards f**cked up because you pluged in in wrrong in the back.I duno that might be some possible solutions to the problem

if the mouse uses a a ball instead of optical than need to clean the rollers that push against the ball.

k, it stopped on me again. so i unistalled the drivers and restarted the computer. Then a little thing comes up saying the new hardware has been installed and requires restart. so i restart again. now its working but a little choppy here and there even with me cleaning the ball. So ill see how it handles for a while nd hopefully it gets back to 100%.
