    HI,
I opened my ps2 up and now it wont start!
I used the diagram on the forums to create a slide tool but when i used it the drive wouldnt open so i decided to open the ps2 to try to reset the switch manually. When i opened it i found i couldnt open the drive so i put the screws back in. NOW IT WONT START ! I haved removed anything but the basic 6 screws.

    PLEASE HELP =P

ok ok ok, there, aron, calm down....same thing happened to me. okay, my ps2 is version 7 but ill try to help you out....ok, just listen to me....

okay, you know how when you turn your ps2 on from the switch thing in the back with the line and the circle on it.....well, the reset button turns red. you have to push that to turn it on, right. okay, well, i think i know whats wrong. under your disc tray, there is like a type of motherboard, i think. anyway, on the bottom side of that is where you reset and eject button cable goes into a little, uhhh, how do i say this, a little , uhhhh, its hard to explain but its kinda like a black box. anyway, i think that your reset/eject cable may have gotten jarred loose from that. just slide it in again and then tape it in place...ohh, and make sure that when you slide the cable in, that the metal strips on the bottom side of the cable touch the metal strips inside the box like thing....k.

if you have any more questions, pm me.

Thanks for the help. I managed to get in touch with a bloke that fixes ps2s. Good thing too my ps2 works better than ever now =). He tweaked the laser and that and gave it a good old clean.

    Thanks for the help!
