Hi I just bought a 160 GB uncharted bundle from target yesterday. it makes a Weird crackling noise. I first noticed it when I was downloading the free pain game. it may have started before that but I didn't notice. now it makes the noise as soon as I turn it on. when it loads and sometimes when I'm not doing anything its not any normal PS3 sound I've owned another PS3 and I've never heard this noise. other than that it works fine I'm just a little nerves because I didn't buy the warranty hoping nothing can go wrong with it. its the first time I have a wireless connection with a PS3 I don't know if it has anything to do with that. the best example of the noise is if you crinkle paper. its not exactly that sound though. if anyone knows whats wrong or if nothings wrong can you please tell me thanks
my guess is some sort of loose screw and vibration from the fans making the noise (pure guess, no evidence)... if you did buy it yesterday, you might aswell get it exchanged and tell target that its a defective product and they should honor their return policy (if there is any)
Yeah I think thats what I'm gonna do. I called target today and they said I could exchange it for another one for free. I just have to find the receipt. It still works but I think I'll play it safe and exchange it just incase it ends up not working. thank you for the help.
