Just what error are you getting, and what movie are you trying to do? You can dl the free DVDFab Decrypter and rip to your HDD and then process with Shrink, this will take care of any of the newer protected movies.

Are you getting this error on the rip or the burn? If it is the burn you might want to check and see if your burner fw is up to date. What is the make/model/current firmware of your burner, and what brand disk media are you using, what speed are you burning at? You can find out the info on the burner by going into DVD Decrypter and choosing the Tools Tab, Drive and then Capabilities.

In Decrypter this is what you need to check

Make sure you have chosen your burner in the source drive box on the main screen.

You should have a drive listed in your Tools Tab. Perhaps you should uninstall Decrypter and reinstall and see if the Drive is then listed. If you do not have a backup of Decrypter, you can get it here.

If it does not work, post back we will see what is wrong. Imation are not exactly the best of media, try to burn them at 4x if possible.

The firmware page is listing 1.03C for your drive as current.

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2051

You can flash the drive to the latest and see if that makes a difference. Just FYI remember that flashing a drive is always a risk. However, if you do not do it the drive will have media recognition problems in the future as newer/faster media comes out.

I am assuming that the info came from DVDD and that the drive tab is now showing.

Have you tried any other burning sw to see if it is just a Decrypter problem?

Which movie are you trying to burn, I know Bambi2 has given fits to posters. As for Dora, the only one I did for my gdaughter I ended up ripping in iso mode and then burning. You might want to try the free ImgBurn program which is an updated ver of the burning portion of Decrypter by the same developer.

    http://www.imgburn.com

Or you can dl the 21 day free trial of CloneDVD which will compress and burn your DVD. It's companion AnyDVD will allow you to rip with Clone, or has a built in ripper which is good for troublesome DVD's like Bambi2.

    http://www.slysoft.com

You need to try another program to see if it is just a glitch in Decrypter or some other problem with your burner. You might want to try a different brand of media, such as Verbatim. My NEC likes this brand, or Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

I fully agree with arniebear. Since DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, have not been updated in over a year. I went to AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2, both by SlySoft.

Although you must purchase both programs, they are well worth the price.

If you can get a clean rip, then even Shrink can do the transcoding and with DVD Decrypter, it can set up and burn automatically. You merely need to select DVD Decrypter in the burn options. DVDFab Decrypter from DVDIdle can rip most movies without a problem. The retail AnyDVD is a better decryption tool, it is both a driver type and has an included ripper. I suggest AnyDVD for anyone who is going to be doing backups.

    Forkids
You can use AnyDVD with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and have the software work as it did before. DVD Decrypter needs to be put in default, have the CSS cracking turned off, uncheck the Check for structural protection, and in the interface have SPTI selected. Then turn on AnyDVD and use the software as you always have. If you run into files with compliance errors, you can either process the ripped files with FixVTS or use the included AnyDVD ripper to rip new files and then open in Shrink.

You might want to try DVD Fab Decrypter, it is better at being kept updated. I have used it for a while now and it does the job. You can download it from the dvdidle in my signature. It does work very well with DVDShrink. Good Luck! Sorry Bro Bear, I didn't see that you suggested DVD Fab Decrypter, it is early here in California, still can't see yet, no coffee, it's still being made, lol.
