    Hi,

This is a plea for help for anyone around the Tyneside area that could help me set up my dbox - I'll pay you/cover your expenses/buy you beer/wine - whatever it takes.

I bought a Sagem DBox 2 years ago on flea bay from a UK seller, and the box has worked like a dream. I literally took it out of the package, plugged it in, did a scan and bob was my uncle.

I spotted another DBox (Sagem)last week on flea bay described as 100% ready - plug & play, from Germany. I plugged it in and it say there are no channels to be found and it asks you to scan. When I do a scan it shows the frequencies but not the number of Transponders - that line entry is blank. It came with a load of stuff on a CD which 99.9999999% means totally nothing to me. I know zilch about DBoxes and I don't even understand what an Image is. I've tried reading the excellent guides on here but they are way beyond my level of understanding.

    Can anyone help me please.

Not in your neck of the woods but it is quite easy to do yourself as you said you had a good read around. A lot of what you read is covered by techno babble but the process is quite easy to do.

    sc0user,

I think you are underestimating my level of dimness on this subject matter lol.

The real problem is, I don't know where to start and I'm cr@p at reading/following techy stuff. If I watched someone do it, and made notes in my own 'Janet & John style' I could probably follow it then. I'm frightened to play with my other Sagem in case I make a bulls lug of that too (I messed up the bouquet on that one and now nearly everything is saved in my favs!!).

    Thanks,

    Flybee

OK I understand but the process is quite easy. There are even videos on youtube, but if you still want to hang on in and hopefully someone from your area may answer your call for help, if I was near you I would but unfortunately I'm not.

    Thanks sc0user,

If I don't get any takers (I'll even drive to someone's home within a 50/60 miles radius if it's easier) then I'll take the plunge and have a go myself but I'm not at all confident of a succesful outcome.

Thanks for the youtube suggestion by the way...

    Cheers

You really miss it dont you :) I never really tell anyone to do this as the fix is here for free, but there are services on fleabay that will do it for you at a cost. Or alternatively post here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/178/369401 and ask Turner he may be in your area, just tell him I sent you over.
