Please can anybody help me.Have jtagged a load of boxes on my Dell laptop with parallel port, now when I open Skymax it says "parallel port can not be opened" It was working fine a few days ago. I saw Scouser in another post mentioned about going into the Bios and checking that the parallel port was set to EPP and IRQ 378. There were 3 settings for the parallel port and I tried the 3 of them to no avail. I have uninstalled the port in device manager letting windows reinstall it again on reboot, and even did a system restore to the point where it was working but to no avail.I didn't install any new programs except Java for my internet banking and accepted a few windows downloads from microsoft.Any help would be much appreciated.I just bought this secondhand laptop a week ago from a computer shop with windows xp freshly installed.
Celtic, You seem to have misunderstood my problem.I was using a Jtag kit from tmc successfully on my laptop (with a parallel port on the laptop) until this evening.I suspect that either I(its a CMOS chip in the circuit) or the faulty box blew the chip.I am getting a replacement chip this weekend in Maplin and I will let you know how I get on.
Have discovered that my Jtag kit works in my PC.What the hell has happened to my laptop. It was working fine on the laptop,Jtagged about 30 boxes with it.
Happens when jtagging the PCI port tends to give up after so many jtags may be a voltage problem. BTW why jtag so many boxes, you must have a production line going
Scouser, After spending hours on the internet and various other forums I finally found a solution that works.I have uploaded the file to Eamo's folder. It is in the Tsop folder in the eurovox folder. You have to run this other program first and change Skymax to run in Windows 98/Millenium compatability mode.
