I have downloaded loads of avi files and added them to my external hd to play through my ps3.Lately i have been getting films that have no audio when played on my ps3 but they play with audio on the pc.I checked the audio codec with gspot and realized that the audio codec was a cbr instead of vbr is there anyway to sort this problem. If anyone can give me a step by step guide it would be great since i am not clued up on this kind of thing
To change audio to CBR, load/drag the file into Avidemux. Change the audio from 'Copy' to mp3 and 'Configure' it as CBR. Save the file with a new name - including the extension, e.g. newfile.avi
Thanks for the help but it was not cbr i was trying to change to it was the other way about. The file is already a cbr audio codec but i needed to change it to vbr because i thought the ps3 must not be able to play cbr audio codecs since all the films i have tried to play with cbr have had no sound when playing on the ps3. I used the program you gave me and managed to change the audio to ac3 instead and it works fine now. Thanks very much for your help, its a relief to know how to change this now because i have been getting a lot of films with that codec and haven't been able to play them with sound on my ps3 so that was a huge help.
