If I put a blank DVD in my writer it automaticaly opens any program that is associated with it. In my case Media Player. If I look at the properties it showa a file of 33k. I can still use the disk to record however, it is getting on my wick. If I take the disc out of the DVD writer and oput it in my DVD reader no file shows and hence no association. Where is this invisble file coming from any help apriciated with thanks.

What are you getting so paranoid about , and why are DVD files associated with WMP.

Try turning auto-play off (once in a while) & also try using an actual DVD Media Player (like PowerDVD/WinDVD) rather than MS rubbish.
If I put a blank in my writer and explore My Computer ... it shows 0 bytes on blank media !!

Who said I was getting paranoid?

I think you are missing the point squire... A blank DVD shows a file of 33k even though it is blank and un used, If I reassociate the file with any other program it is still a file that should not in fact be on the BLANK disc. If I put the blank disk in my normal DVD rom drive the file does not appear. Alos, if I open Winfile.exe in Windows ME the file still shows on my DVD writer.
If I re associate the file with any other program it still attempts to open that program on loading. As I said at the beggining, its an non existant file but why does it show up in the first place???????????????

Yes MS Media player is crap
