what is a AGP card what is AGP 4x and 8x which one is better? will a agp 8x support all games for me.
what games are u looking at, agp8x is 2 x better than 4x or supposed to be but to wether can support all games depends on the grahic card, but should be albe to at the moment but not for long.
Grqaphic cards have moved from PCI (peripheral Component Interconnect) to AGP ( Accelerated Graphics Port Interface) to PCIe (PCI Express). As they have advanced each supposedly becomes faster. At present I have an ATI 9800se AGP not a fantastic card but I can play all the major games, but not at high detail. If you want to get a card that will be around for a bit go with PCIe but take a look at some bench marks for graphic cards, you will need to factor in what hardware you have, whats your price range and is graphical detail important to you (you may get a cheaper card that will play the games if all detail is turned down low).
Wouldn't actually say 'better', but in definition, each card "x" means double the bandwidth on the AGP bus available to the card. AGP was the first, then AGP 2x having twice the available bandwidth..4x having twice more than 2x....so on and so forth! They did a nice little change up in saying PCI-E is x16, but in reality it's 16x.
