    Hi.

    Some general maintenance things first.

    The firmware version listed for your NEC 3520A burner is 1.04, one of the originals iirc. The most current version seems to be 3.07 available here:

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2005

    or here:

    http://www.micheldeboer.nl/firmware/

    Nero 6.6.0.18 seems to be the best version. If you want to upgrade, run the Nero 6 Clean Tool and then download and install version 6.6.0.18.

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/us/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

    Nero 6.6.0.18:
    Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
    Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

    I cannot tell for sure whether the problem is with the ISO file, your hard drive, or Nero. Since you already have an ISO file, try using ImgBurn (free) to burn it. If that works, you know the file isn't corrupt, the hard drive is likely OK, the burner works, etc.

    Do not multitask when using nero. Also its recommended that you have at least 512mb ram.

    @DegenX

    I'm pretty sure the poster has 512mb of RAM. Some of the memory is being used for video memory most likely.

    hey, thanks for all the help and "general maintainance" :D After the 3rd coaster, i checked all the files on the dvd which had been burnt correctly. It seemed there was one file which constantly did not burn at all. I suspected a few bad frames somewhere so i downloaded the Divxrepair program which supports most avi formats which found 20 bad frames within the file. Once i burned the corrected file along with the other avi it worked perfectly.

    Glad you sorted it out. A corrupted file is a pain.
