Hello, I have Nero 6.6 and I downloaded episodes of a television show in AVI format. I tried to burn them using NeroVision Express (version 3), and when I click "Add Video Files" and choose the file I want, it says "Unable to insert" and then the file name, which is strange to me because the video was a supported format. I'm basically new at burning DVDs, especially with Nero, and would appreciate any help. Thanks!
Hi kclarkson When you go to add the file what format shows - they show as .avi files right? Does it say anything else? Have you tried to play the file with something like Windows Media player to check them out? Which version of 6 are you using like 6.6.0.18? Here's also a guide for Vision 4 but Vision 3 is very similar.
Hi binkie, The files show up as .avi files, it doesn't say anything else. I've played them with Windows Media Player and WinDVD as well, and they played fine. I'm using Nero 6.6.0.18. Thanks for your help.
Just relized I didn't give you the link - oops! http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946 You can try this one - free trial but leaves a watermark: http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/ If convertxtodvd works then there may be something with the files nero doesn't like. Has this version of nero given you a problem before w/ avi's?
Thank you! I'll check both of those out. I really haven't burnt a disc before, so no it hasn't given me a problem, haha. Now that I think about it, could it be something with mpeg-4 encoding or something like that?
Maybe a codecs is missing needed for Nero. Just my experience - no way full proof(cause it didn't work for you) - but usually if Window media plays them - Nero can handle them.
