Recently a bought a new benq 1650v and install it into my computer. Problem is it doesn't even read disc much less burn. Even worse my other drive which is a cd burner doesn't even work either ever since I install the new drive. The new benq 1650v should be my master drive. Both drive doesn't show up on the device manager. It show up im My Computer but it doesn't work or reject on my command.
My speculation is there is nothing wrong with my drive but the the thing connecting the drives to the motherboard is broken. Or it is the drive. Or the computer.
So any takers? Anyone? anything would do. PLEASE.

Oh i found it what is wrong. The new drive I bought is a slave drive. So before I input two slave drive and none of them works. Now that I put in my busted master drive with my new drive then it works. I am such a noob for not knowing there is two type of drive such as master and slave drive. Jeez the site I bought it from should have stated what kind of drive it is. Man! I got ripped off.
    Thanks for your support.

oh nevermind I got it. The jumper is to indicate what the drive is: the master or the slave.
