Hello name is Dan. I am new to copying dvd's etc, but I have a Dell Dimension 3000, 256mb ram. I am a member of a Leeds United football website which enables me to download 2 minute clips of each game during the course of the season, there are 46 games (each approx 2min clip) I want to put all of these on a dvd to make a film sort of thing. Is this possible? Thanks for help. I have a programme called Sonic on my comp.
If they are actually downloadable and not just playable at the site and are in a nonproprietary format, it is possible. I don't use Sonic programs, but it would be a DVD authoring program you would use. In the Nero suite, Sonic's competitor, the program is NeroVision Express. It is available for free trial at: http://www.nero.com Any DVD Authoring program should be able to do what you want. I don't know what sonic software you have so it's not possible to be more specific. If you want to actually list the names of your software more help can be forthcoming I imagine. If it's newer software, it probably has a wizard to guide you. You would choose create a DVD from files or similar. I use TMPGENC DVD Author for authoring projects: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tda16.html (free trial)
billybrem The first thing you should do if you intend to do any sort of transcoding of media files, is to bump up the ram in your computer. 256 mb`s does not cut it. Your computer may bog down and may even freeze up depending on what you do. I suggest at least a gig of ram. Then to get started go to this link : http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm For a guide on how to use it go here : http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_divxtodvd_guide.cfm The software is free. Then If you want to put all your clips run together, like a video montage with NO menus look for DVD Shrink it is also FREE. Then you can use Sonic that came with your computer to burn the files to a DVD. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm Click on OPEN Files in DVDShrink to find your files that you made with DIVXtoDVD, to compile a disk.
