    Hi All:

I couldn't find the information, so here goes a really dumb question. I'm sure I have a lot running in the background and would like to turn them off so I don't run out of space. My buffer level runs at max. Am I asking the right question?

Start>run>type..MSCONFIG> hit enter>choose startup.. This is the last tab at the top.

THose are your startup files, You can click disable all or choose what you'de like to disable.

Unchecking the box disables the program from startup.
    Now Click "OK" and reboot.

under Win2000/WinXP you can always use the old 3 finger salute bring up Taskmanager and manually kill any unneeded background apps from being run. Id kill any Screensavers, Antivirus, Cache/Ram applications
