I just installed a Solderless Xenium chip into my xbox (a v1.5). I reassemble my xbox and go to turn it on with all cables plugged in. I'm not sure what the Xenium splash screen is but a screen showing Xenium and a picture of the chip came on. Well i thought this was normal and waiting for the bios screen. The LED light over the eject button on the xbox was flashing orange. I continued to wait and then the LED light changed to red so i quickly turned it off. I dont know what the problem is can someone please help me!?!?!

    Stupid question TIME!

Did you ever place a BIOS Image on your Modchip??? Do to reasions of legality most Modchip makes sell there Chips empty. Some friskier retailers / Makers might preinstall a Cromwell BIOS on there Chips but, well that will allow you to boot your XBOX™ and then allow you to install Linux on your XBOX™ that's about all the good, Cromwell will bring to you.

In short you need to find out which Images you can use on your XBOX™ (and they should be spcific to your XBOX™ (1.5 version), if you want to see any light (from the TV that is), as the biggest differences between XBOX'es™ is there Video Encoder Chips. So a Image that would work for a XBOX™ 1.1. WILL NOT WORK ON A XBOX™ 1.5 as XBOX™ 1.1 uses a Conextant Chip and IIRC the XBOX™ 1.5 use the Focus Chip.

But, if the TSOP cough Modchip cough is empty (aka in Airhead mode) you are also likely to get a flashing Orange Light.

Other then that you can preaty much use whatever you like be it the X3 BIOS (no you do not need an X3 to run an X3 or X2 BIOS Image), or the Evox M8 BIOS. Or any othe number of such variations. I recomend you use this as a guide.

Note it could be a bit out of date though.

Find one that would see to fit you need the best and install that to your Modchip and you will be back in busness!
