I'm new when it comes to using routers. I have not used any router before. I currently have a p3 computer without a lan card but is connected to a motorola surfboard modem with usb connectivity. It also has ethernet connection. Adding to that i have a notebook with wireless lan. May i ask how can i have internet connection for both the notebook and the pc. I believed i need a router. Should i get a wireless router? Do i need a lan card for my pc?
your laptop should also have a lan connector besides the wireless lan. if does might than be possible to connect to the lan on the motorola while the pc connects to the usb side of the modem
don't think so as i remember reading about it a little while ago at a customer's place. try without the router
