Hi there here's a wierd one. Recently wmp 9 says i have no dvd software and wont play dvd. Also, if I try to play a dvd or ANY avi in Powerdvd it says an internal error occurred and wont play it. However...wmp will play divx etc...bloody wierd.. I have uninstalled all codecs and software, and reinstalled, but still nothing..any ideas?
ok and here's something else wierd..if i close the error message in wmp, then double click on a chapter it will play it..it's almost as though it cant open the start of teh dvd till you force it... also, tried my laptop, this has the same problem, although powerdvd plays audio, but with a black screen
powerdvd is not designed for playing divx movies and you have to have the latest version of WMP to play DVDs also try installing your powerdvd software again to see if that works for you
ok i have always been able to play divx in powerdvd until recently, now it wont play anything at all, just error code FFFFFF. WMP is the most upto date, but even before would always play dvd. Now wMP wont play dvd or MPG2, but will play divx etc, but badly. If I use VLC it will play anything, DVD or divx. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the players/codecs as I said in my original post. Something is screwed up somewhere, and I dont really wanna reinstall XP. Any other ideas guys?
